Self-Discipline: break out the whip!
Jun 11th, 2009 by Adam
Self Discipline is the key to real character
According to our values we discipline ourselves and the outcome of our self discipline is the character we develop. If we don’t discipline ourselves then we will seldom develop significant character.
Be a person of virtue and character.
Be someone who lives in accordance with their deepest personal values…
It’s not entirely easy sometimes to live according to our ideals. We’ve spent years acting according to our whims. We’ve strengthened our will power so much in following momentary desire that we can hardly fight strongly enough against ourselves to be able to conquer the momentary in preparation for the lasting.
Start small. …very small.
If we have a dream to accomplish something, it’s very easy to do one tiny thing everyday to get the process started. Don’t look at the entire idea. Break it down into ridiculously small steps. Spend just 5 minutes a day reading about how to accomplish your dream. Build that up into DOING something that takes you one step closer to achieving the dream.
If we do little things every day, they eventually add up into one great success.
This is the secret to achievement. DO something. Now.
To your unconventional success!
